William Bentch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holman-Howe Funeral Homes Lebanon on Sep. 16, 2024.
William "Bill" E. Bentch, Jr., son of William E. Bentch, Sr. and Nellie Brower Bentch, was born November 6, 1945 in Warsaw, Missouri. He passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehab in Lebanon, Missouri. He was seventy-eight years, ten months and eight days of age.
Bill spent the early years of his life in Climax Springs, Missouri and then moved with his family to Stoutland, Missouri. Following his graduation from high school, Bill enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War.
On September 16, 1965, Bill was united in marriage to Bonnie Fisher. They made many wonderful memories throughout their marriage and were just short of celebrating their fifty-ninth wedding anniversary.
Following his time in the Army, Bill returned to Lebanon, Missouri and began a long career with the BWSF Railroad. He was very proud of his work with the railroad and made many friends and acquaintances at the railroad over the years.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Bentch.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie, of the home; three daughters, Brenda Moore and her husband Brian and Angie Huff and her husband, Tommy, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and JoAnna Hinkebein of Clarksville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Travis, Paige, Sam, Sydney, Cameron and Lance; six great-grandchildren, Elan, Laythym, Oliver, Bensyn, Kensingtyn and Everett; his sister, Becky Sissell and her husband Steve of Nixa, Missouri; his brother, Jim Bentch and his wife Mary Lou of Stoutland, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Bill was a member of the Church of Christ in Richland, Missouri and he also served as a Mason. He was also a member of the American Legion Post.
Following his retirement, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. They were so much fun to have around and he liked to tease them at every opportunity.
Throughout his life, Bill was known for his unwavering dedication to his family, embodying the roles of a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them.
