"Billy"

July 31, 1962 – September 5, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William J. Benton Jr., affectionately known as "Billy," on September 5, 2025. He left us far too soon at the age of 63, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on July 31, 1962, in Great Falls, Virginia, Billy was the youngest of three children. He spent his early childhood on the family farm, where he developed a deep appreciation for life, hard work, and family. At the age of 11, he moved to Manassas, Virginia, and later graduated from Osbourn High School, Class of 1981.

Billy's infectious laugh, quick wit, and generous spirit lit up every room he entered. He cherished each day, finding joy in the simple things and the company of those he loved.

A skilled craftsman, Billy discovered his passion for woodworking while working at an upholstery shop during high school. That love for restoring and creating furniture stayed with him throughout his life, and his garage workshop remained one of his favorite places to be.

After high school, Billy entered the automotive industry, beginning his career in a parts department. He dedicated his life to the trade, working in parts and tire center management until his retirement. He had an encyclopedic memory for part numbers and tire sizes a testament to his dedication and work ethic.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Benton, his sister, Dianna Lewis; and two beloved grandchildren, Tabitha and Nethaniel. He is survived by his sister, Gail Brown (Charles); his children, Samantha Benton-Norris, James Benton (Kasie), and Jason Benton; and six cherished grandchildren: James, Yasmin, Damarius, Jayden, Hunter, and Lily.

Billy's legacy lives on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the strength of his family, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
