Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. - MolineWilliam “Bill” G. Gomez, 79, of Orion, IL, passed away, September 18, 2025, at Generations at Rock Island.
A celebration of life will take place at the 11th Hour Bar & Grill (1600 Crosstown Ave, Silvis, IL 61282) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025. Cremation rites will be accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline are assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
Bill was born on August 14, 1946, in Moline, IL, the son of August G. and Betty J. (Sisson) Gomez. He married Valerie J. Stoner in Las Vegas, NV, on February 14, 2007. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and golfing in his free time.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie; children, Ron (Jill Johnson) Gomez, Angela Gomez, Fred Stoner; grandchildren, Nevin Lane, Kendall Gomez, Ryan Gomez, Justina Johnson, Curtis Anderson, Maxwell Stoner; great-grandchildren, Harmony Barrett, Nikolai Lane, and Taylor Johnson; brothers, Daniel (Lea) Gomez and Tony (Linda) Gomez; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Ammerman and brother-in-law, Rich Barnes.
