William "Bill" H. Lehner

March 12, 1955 - December 15, 2025

William "Bill" Lehner, 70, of Elkhorn, Wis., passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at his home. He was born March 12, 1955, in Jacksonville, Wis., the son of the late George and Eunice (Moratz) Lehner. Bill was united in marriage to Mary Bromeland on May 21, 1977, in Elkhorn, Wis. Bill started his career as a history teacher and guidance counselor, then Principal, and eventually the District Superintendent for the Genoa City School District. He was a lifelong learner having several masters degrees. Bill enjoyed coaching basketball throughout the years. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed traveling out west to elk hunt. Bill and Mary enjoyed traveling to many of the national parks and driving out west and to Alaska. He also loved to spend time at the cabin. He loved to watch all Wisconsin sports. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He treasured his time with his grandchildren dearly.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary; their two daughters, Amy (Randall) Hoyt, and Marci (Michael) Novak; four grandchildren, Emily Hoyt, George Hoyt, Logan Novak, and Carson Novak; his three siblings, Robert Lehner, Eunice Lehner, and James Lehner; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Private Family Service was held. Online guest book available at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to International Crane Foundation, ATTN Gift Processing, PO BOX 447, Baraboo, WI 53913. Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory completed the arrangements with the Lehner Family.
