William "Bill" Arey Morton Jr., a beloved husband and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on June 10, 1950, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Bill dedicated his life to his family and his work in the textile industry, making significant contributions during his remarkable 24-year tenure at Pharr Yarns.
Bill also cherished the time he spent helping his dad on the family farm, a testament to his strong work ethic and deep-rooted love for the land. He will be remembered for his warm smile, ready laughter, and the unwavering love for his family. Together, his wife of 37 years, Vickie Morton and himself built a life full of cherished memories and shared joy with those around them.
In addition to his wife, left to cherish his memories are his children, Sonya Morton, Shawn Morton, and Emily Morton-Arellano; grandchildren, Christopher "Chris" Heavener, Justin Morton, Sierra Thomas, Katelyn McAllister, Daniel McAllister, Nathaniel McAllister, Courtney Morton, Bradley Morton, and Deacon Morton; 8 great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr and Dora Morton; son, William "Billy" Arey Morton III; brothers, Neal Morton and Tim Morton; sisters, Darlene Morton and Patricia "Sissy" Meeks; grandson, Cameron Valente.
In celebration of his life, a memorial service will be held at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor Bill, sharing stories and laughter as we remember a man who embodied kindness and dedication.
William "Bill" Arey Morton Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment, and strength that will continue to inspire his family and friends for generations to come. Rest in peace, dear Bill; you will be greatly missed.
