Mass of Christian Burial for William “Bill” Pistulka, 89, of Wabasso, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. A livestream and recording of the service will be available at www.lowafc.org. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery.
William “Bill” Martin Pistulka was born on February 21, 1936, at home in Vesta Township, to Louis and Minnie (Dahl) Pistulka. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. He attended country school District 54 through eighth grade, then graduated from Wabasso High School in 1953. Bill served in the Navy for four years and was honorably discharged in 1961. He then attended Brown Institute for an electrician degree. Bill first worked at Collins Corporation, then Iowa Power, where he worked for 35 years. After retirement, Bill moved back to Wabasso to be closer to family. Bill enjoyed many hobbies, especially woodworking and making pens. He loved going to auctions, where he would buy wood planes. In his younger years, Bill enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, and fishing. He was a faithful member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso.
Bill died on Monday, June 16, 2025, at the CentraCare Redwood Hospital in Redwood Falls. He is survived by his sister Elaine Baune and brother John Pistulka, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rolland (and Audrey) Pistulka, sister-in-law Millie Pistulka, and brother-in-law Eugene Baune.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Anne’s Cemetery fund.
