William Maughan Rivers Jr.

1948 - 2024

William Maughan Rivers Jr. fell asleep quietly on the morning of September 17th and made his way home. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Denise Laiche Rivers, children Ryan Rivers and Kristen Gonzales, and their spouses, Nancy Rivers and Sloan Gonzales. He leaves four wonderful grandchildren: Kyle and his wife, Summer, Kai, Cade, and Reid. He is the son of the late William M. Rivers Sr. and the late Mary Lou Butcher. The extended family includes brother-in-laws David Laiche, wife Carla and Carl Laiche, wife Melody, and nieces Amanda Moss, Nicole DeSoto, Gia, and Eric. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 24th, at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 3600 Claire Ave. in Gretna, LA. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a mass starting at 12 p.m. Burial services will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave, Terrytown, LA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association in his name.
