William "Billy" Lee Byrd, 81, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the NMMC-Gilmore in Amory. He was born in Monroe County on April 7, 1944 to parents Albert Lee Byrd and Luthel (Munn) Byrd.  He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County and he was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Aberdeen. Billy was a retired plumber. When he was able he enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his yard and gardening. He loved helping others, helping at church  and he enjoyed keeping up his neighborhood.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, December 21, 2025 2pm in the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with Bro. Todd Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be prior to service time from 12-2 pm at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte T. Byrd, one son, Darryl Byrd (Barbara), 2 grandchildren, Alex Byrd (Lauren), Tiffany Weeks (Jon), 4 great grandchildren, Benjamin Byrd, Eathan Weeks, Shayleigh Weeks, Kaitlyn Ransom (Tray), 4 siblings, Bob Byrd (Karen), Mary Johnson (Kenneth), Linda McMullen (Paul), Judy Gilreath (Ronnie), and a host of nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elizabeth Ann Byrd.

Pallbearers will be Darryl Byrd, Chris Byrd, Mike Byrd, Alex Byrd, Shawn Hairald and Ronnie Williams.
