William E. "Billy" Binning, 88, of Lake End, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home on October 12, 2025. Born in Mansfield, Louisiana on December 26, 1936, Billy lived a life marked by hard work, quiet strength, and a deep love for craftsmanship and adventure.
Billy had an extraordinary talent for working with his hands. A true Jack of all Trades, there was little he couldn't build, fix, or figure out. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and later found joy in traveling especially to his favorite destination, Branson, Missouri, where he loved browsing the tool stores.
He spent much of his career at Nabors Trailers in Mansfield until its closure, after which he continued his work with Riley Beard in Shreveport until retirement. Billy also proudly served his country with a combined 20 years in the Regular Army and the National Guard, with most of his service in the Guard.
Billy married the love of his life, Faye Walker, and together they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage—a bond built on devotion, resilience, and deep affection.
Though quiet around family, Billy's friends and co-workers knew him as someone with a sharp wit and a good story. His quiet demeanor belied a spirited personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew him well.
Billy was preceded in death by his son, Elmer Walker Binning; his parents, William H. Binning and Letha Coleman Binning; his sister, Betty Bourque and her husband Joe; and his brother, Jimmy Binning.
He is survived by his loving wife, Faye Walker Binning; his son, Walter Binning; daughters, Elaine Binning Pyles and husband Ernie, and Carol Anne Binning; and his sister, Diane Binning Burr.
Billy was a proud grandfather to Katie Temple, Charlee Temple, Buddye Radford and husband Matt, Montana Binning, Walker Binning, Erin Pyles Smith and husband Robbie, and Olivia Pyles Howard and husband Doug. He also leaves behind thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild who will carry forward his legacy.
A visitation will take place at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at Ajax Cemetery in Ajax, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Bro.
