William Lindsey Blackburn was born December 9, 1951 in Florence Alabama to the late Abia Blackburn and Leona Haeger Blackburn. He resided in McDonough Georgia. He departed this life on November 30, 2024. He was preceded in death by his brother Sonny (Dorothy) McCanless.
William was a longtime member of Southside Christian Fellowship where he served as Deacon Chairman for 20 years.
William retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years. He continued to work and volunteer at his church until recent years.
William was a loving and easy going man who made friends easily. He loved his family and they loved him.
William was married to the former Judy Shae Traywick on January 11, 1975. He left precious memories to his family who surrounded him during his last days. He leaves a son Keith (Amy) Blackburn, daughter Melanie (Brian) Kimbrough, grandsons Alex Kimbrough, Cody (Emily) Kimbrough, Conner Kimbrough, Carson Kimbrough and Avery Blackburn and granddaughters Ashlyn Blackburn and Aubrey Blackburn and his great granddaughter and namesake Lindsey Kimbrough and brothers Alton (Carlene) Blackburn, Dennis (Regina) Blackburn and Ralph McCanless and sister-in-law Joanie Richardson along with many aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces and many friends.
He will be greatly missed but his memory is a blessing.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 11am at Southside Christian Fellowship 7 McDonough St. Hampton GA 30228. Fellowship covered dish meal will follow the service.
