William Dennis Blankenship

 

William Dennis Blankenship age 79 of Boones Mill, VA passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.  He was born on November 29, 1943 a son of the late William M. and Frances Cooper Blankenship.  He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Scarlett and brother, J. P. Blankenship. Mr. Blankenship worked at Cooper Wood for many years, where he operated a forklift. He enjoyed working outdoors where he farmed and raised a garden. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Joanie Arrington Blankenship; children, Philip Blankenship (Terry), Ricky Dillon (Katie), Tammy Chitwood (Carter), Denise Lazenby (Josh), Andy Blankenship (Jenniffer); grandchildren, Autumn (Sal), Alex (Heather), Jared, Candace, Peyton, Aaron, Adam, Nathan, Kaylee, J.J., Anna, Annalynn, and Rylei Jo; great-grandchildren, Giuliana and Luca; sister, Betty Guilliams; brothers, Wayne Blankenship (Betty), and Bobby Blankenship.

 

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (RT 220) with Dr. Robert McGurty officiating.  Interment will follow in Blankenship Family Cemetery.  The family will receive

Friends on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
