Maj. Bohlke was my squadron commander at Officer Training School, Class 83-06B, graduated 21 Jan 1983. He was a fantastic squadron commander, and I had a tremendous amount of respect for him. You could tell he truly cared about the students under his command and truly wanted each of us to succeed. He called me to his office once day for something; I don't recall now what. It involved me taking on more responsibility and achieving a higher Officer Trainee (OT) rank (all officer trainees were initially OT 2nd Lt's). My OTS goal was to make it as easy on myself as I could and do the hard work after I was at my first assignment, so I knew he was rather disappointed in my choice to remain an OT 2d Lt. His lasting legacy with me is a copy of his "Tips for Leaders," which I still have and something I've referred to many times over the years.

Deepest sympathies to Toni and the family. Bill will always hold a very special place in all our hearts. Thanks and praise for our days; Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky; As we go, this we know; God is nigh. Fair winds and following seas my friend.
