William Eugene Boyd

William Eugene Boyd (aka) "Billy" was born February 13, 1957, in Columbia, SC. He was the son of Elizabeth Boyd Hudson & Henry Burton. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at his residence in Irmo, South Carolina.
William graduated from East Orange High School, East Orange, NJ in 1975. After graduation, he was enlisted in US Army and trained at Ft. Dix Army Base in New Jersey. Upon completion of basic training, he was stationed in Korea for 3 years. After serving his county he returned to New Jersey and was employed with Bell Atlantic and Verizon. William was also employed with the International Longshoremen Association Local 1233, Newark, NJ.
Billy loved cars and trucks. He also loved cooking and being in the park with friends. Traveling was also something he enjoyed.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Percy Lee Hudson Jr.
Those celebrating his life and cherishing loving memories is his daughter, Kimberley Elizabeth Boyd of Portsmouth, VA; his mother, Elizabeth Boyd Hudson, and his sister, Gloria D. Boyd both of Irmo, SC; nephews, Percy and Michael Hudson of NY; first cousins, Cindy L. Boyd and Kayla Boyd both of Irmo, SC and a host of loving relatives and dear friends.
We are forever grateful to have had this time with Billy and his passing will forever leave a void in the hearts of family and friends who loved and knew him.
