William J. "Bill" Brieske

Beloved brother and uncle passed away peacefully Monday, February 16, 2026, at Covenant HealthCare Harrison. Age 85 years. Son of the late Jerome and Loraine (Buehler) Brieske, William was born September 21, 1940, in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Jean Ann Vesterfelt, his loving wife of 55 years, on September 5, 1964. She predeceased him May 14, 2020. Bill was a business owner. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Bill enjoyed fishing, pheasant hunting and his beloved cats, Tater and Foxy.

Surviving to cherish his memory are one sister and one brother, Joyce Shay, Coldwater, Michigan; Denny and Paula Brieske, Coldwater, Michigan; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gary Schafsnitz, Bridgeport; William and Linda Vesterfelt, Burt; Janet Martin, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sally Schafsnitz; a nephew, Brad Fisher; a niece Michelle Martin and his favorite cat, Sylvester.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington, Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Christopher Coman will officiate. Private burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to World Apostolate of Fatima (Blue Army) or Saginaw County Humane Society.
