William F Brookes III

William F. Brookes III, a devoted community servant and lifelong volunteer, passed away on Saturday September 27, 2025, age of 66 at Bayshore Community Hospital of Holmdel.
William was predeceased by his parents, William F. Brookes Jr. and Ruth A. (Dalton) Brookes. He is survived by his loving sister, Robin Barr and husband Charles Barr, Sr. of Hazlet, nephew Charles Barr, Jr. and niece Colleen Barr. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.
Born in Red Bank, NJ, William grew up with a strong sense of service and dedication to others. As a young man, he participated in the Boy Scouts, laying the foundation for a life marked by commitment, leadership, and generosity.
William dedicated 37 years of his career to Bayshore Community Hospital achieving Director of Safety and Security.
Beyond his career, William was deeply involved in the community. He was a life member of the Holmdel First Aid Squad and the Bayshore Active Fire Chiefs, where his leadership and countless hours of service made a meaningful impact. He was widely recognized as a pillar of the community through his decades of volunteer work and his many years of ensuring safety at the hospital.
William will be remembered for his dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to helping others. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched in both his professional and volunteer roles.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 2nd from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Friday October 3rd 9:30 AM at Day Funeral Home 361 Maple Pl. Keyport, NJ 07735. A funeral service will be offered Friday 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens in Hazlet.
