Mr. William "Ray" Brown, 74, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. He was born in Murfreesboro on Sunday, July 22, 1951 to the late Horace and Virginia Reed Brown.
He is survived by his son, Michael Brown of Decatur, AL; brother, Roger (Sue) Brown of Milton; sisters, Marie (Tim) Steagall of Lascassas and Patsy (Doug) Sneed of Milton; and 4 grandchildren.
Ray grew up just as any other kid would in his generation. He played in the yard with his siblings, went fishing with his dad, and knew to mind his manners. Even so, Ray was far from a carbon copy. He had his own personality and lived life on his terms. He graduated from Murfreesboro's Central High School and worked as a roofer doing residential construction most of his working years.
If you knew Ray, you knew he was a man of grit. Resilient and independent with a strong work ethic, Ray solved his own problems and was firm on his boundaries. In accordance with his wishes and personality, the family will hold private services at a later date.
