William Bruce Obituary

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Donnie Mae Bruce.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Ledford (Ron) of Arden; his son, Jeff Bruce (Kelly) of New Orleans, LA: and four grandchildren: Scott Puckett (Alissa) of Asheville, Nathan Puckett (Brooke) of Arden, and Taylor and Adam Curry of Weaverville. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Ellie, Esther, Ben, Shelby, Juniper, and Saleena.
William is also survived by his brother, Carroll Bruce (Nete) of Arden: his sisters, Louise Thompson (Bob) of Swannanoa and Martha Benson of Tampa, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He loved working on old lawn mowers, going to yard sales, and spending peaceful moments on the front porch with a cup of coffee. His gentle spirit, humor, and love for simple pleasures will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2:00pm at Christian Creek Church, 120 Warren Wilson Road, Swannanoa, NC. Pastor Jason Queen will be officiating.

My condolences to the family. I´ve known James since first grade at Flat Creek School. We graduated in 1961 at North Buncombe High School. It´s always a sad day when a classmate leaves us. Rest in peace James. We will miss you but will keep you in our memories.
