William George Brugh ObituaryThe fields that were green a few days ago are now brown. God teaches in His word, "All flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as flower of grass. The grass withered and the flower thereof fadeth away."
Mr. William George Brugh, the beloved son of the late Helen Brugh. Mr. Brugh was born March 29, 1940 in Battle Creek, Michigan. On January 8, 2025, God took William while in a deep sleep.
William G. Brugh's family moved to Knox, Indiana when he was a youngster. Mr. Brugh graduated from Knox High School, in Knox, Indiana in 1958. It was in Knox, Indiana, William met his lifelong partner, Norma Jean Sceifres. On March 23, 1960, William and Norma were united in marriage and remained loving for 64 years. From this union, four children, all sons were born.
In April of 1959 William enlisted in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, Senior Airman William Brugh completed Air Force Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas; the Radio Relay Equipment Repairman Course at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi; and the Ground Radio Maintenance Repairman Course, Hahn Air Base, Germany. Upon completion of Airman Basic Training and Advance Individual Training, Senior Airman Brugh served his active military service in the 2184 Communication Squadron, Hahn Air Base, Germany. Senior Airman William Brugh's awards include the Air and Space Outstanding Unit Award, the Good Conduct Medal and the Overseas Ribbon. Senior Airman Brugh was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in April 1963.
After completing his military service Mr. Brugh continued his lifelong work of Electronics and Electrical Engineering. William used the GI Bill to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics from Chapman College, Orange, California in 1987. Mr. Brugh served as a Senior Electronic Engineer with Lockheed Martin Company and worked on projects that took him to Hawaii and Colorado and many other global locations for nearly 35 years. In 1990, while still working with Lockheed Martin, Mr. Brugh and Norma decided to establish their roots in the Colorado Springs, Black Forest area.
William was an advocate of wildlife and nature and supported the Black Forest Wildlife Association, Forestry Association, volunteer carpenter for seniors, and enjoyed playing golf with a buddy group and picking the vegetables in his greenhouse.
Mr. Brugh was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, professional colleague, volunteer and friend.
William is preceded in death by his mother, Helen, and a brother Dick. He is survived by his wife Norma; a brother Roger; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Pam; four sons, Mark, Rick, Kirk, and Kevin; three daughters-in-law, Karen, Joni, and Jeanette; ten (10) grandchildren; twenty (20) great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
