William R. Buchholz

William R. Buchholz, 94, of Macomb, Illinois, passed away at 9:55 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. He was born July 1, 1931, in Aledo, Illinois, to Robert and Wilma Buchholz. He was united in marriage to Marlene Carmack on April 26, 1958, in Macomb, Illinois. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2018.
Surviving are his three sons: Michael (Nancy) Buchholz of Macomb, Illinois; Gerald Buchholz of Downing, Missouri; and Terrance Buchholz of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a
grandson.
William proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps.
He spent most of his working life as a tool and die maker, employed by M & H Auto Supply and Illinois Electric Porcelain, and later retired after 26 years of service with NTN-Bower.
William was a member of the Macomb Elks Lodge 1009 and the Macomb American Legion Post 6. He was an avid fisherman who especially enjoyed traveling to Canada for fishing trips-54 trips to be exact.
