William "Benny" Bullitt

William Benjamin "Benny" Bullitt, 71, of Colfax, Louisiana, passed away at home on August 18, 2025.

Benny was born on February 18, 1954, in Alexandria, Virginia, to Norrall Bullitt and Florine Newton Bullitt. His father passed away when Benny was 18, and his mother later married Joseph Francois. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, and his brother, Bobby A. Newton.

On October 11, 1975, Benny married the love of his life, Cindy Bullitt. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary later this year. Together, they built a life filled with love, devotion, and family.

Benny is survived by his wife, Cindy; their two sons, Scott Bullitt (Lacey) and Chris Bullitt (Lindsay); his beloved grandchildren, Nora, Hynleigh, Raeelynn, Weston, and Matti; his sisters, Kathy (Steven) Reiten and Ann Berry; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.

Benny dedicated his career to serving his community. He worked for the Colfax Housing Authority, retired from the Rapides Parish School Board, and also owned and operated his own plumbing company for many years. He was a hardworking, kind-hearted man whose humor, loyalty, and quiet strength will be deeply missed.

Visitation for Mr. Benny will be held at Gallagher Funeral Home on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Lloyd Whitman officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Benny's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.

Benny will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.
