William Guy Scott "Buzz" Clagett

William Guy Scott Clagett ("Buzz") formerly of Baltimore, MD and Millville, DE passed away at his home in Finksburg, Maryland at the end of June after suffering life-long difficult challenges and severe complications from a devastating motorcycle accident which occurred in 1976, when he was hit by a careless driver. In spite of this, he managed to lead a life of successful accomplishments, get married, and became President & CEO of The Clagett Group., Inc., a paint & refinishing company in Baltimore that catered to the high end real estate market and served large businesses. He enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with his wife Christy Sue. He was active in politics during the Reagan Era. In his early 50's, the long-term complications of his injuries forced him into premature retirement coupled with increasingly significant medical challenges. Gradually, he had to face these challenges almost alone after his parents, Thomas and Frances Clagett passed away; as did his siblings, and his wife. In recent years, Buzz became reclusive and disabled, increasingly unable to care for himself, yet quite reluctant to accept help that he considered "welfare." Avocations included a love of dogs, fascination with politics, and study of religious issues. He loved watching YouTube videos. Although Buzz endured decades of challenges resulting from the accident, as his trials grew worse - he kept in constant contact with his life-long friend, Bob, and constantly talked of knowing God would not forget him, and would soon, as he would say: "come and get me, to take me home." Buzz was a "friend of Bill W." and proudly achieved 46 years of success from that affiliation, helping many others until he became disabled. In accordance with his wishes, he will be interred privately in Mariner's Bethel Cemetery, Ocean View, DE beside his beloved wife Christy and his parents.
