William Blaine Caldwell was born September 29, 1937 to the late Cora Hamilton-Caldwell and Harry James Caldwell in Midway, KY.

William, better known as Bill or Bunk to all his friends and loved ones, departed this life on August 23, 2024. At an early age Bunk confessed his life to Christ and became a member of St. Matthew A.M.E. in Midway, KY. He was a graduate of Simmons High School in Versailles, KY. He joined the United States Marine Corp on March 9, 1957, where he served for 3 years before finally making Columbus, OH his home.

Bunk was an amazing father, uncle, husband, cousin, and grandfather as well as friend. He was a talented mechanic enjoying working on cars with his longtime bestfriend, James Robert Hayden AKA Mr. Sleepy. On August 15, 1984 he married his wife, Julia J. Caldwell, spending 40 years of happily married life until his death. Bunk worked at Ford Motor Company as a line press, The Westing House as an assembly worker, Emeralds as a baker, and finally retiring from Columbus City Schools. He loved fishing in his spare time, taking fishing trips with his grandsons.

Bill is preceded in death by his sisters, Minnie Mulder, Elizabeth “Liz” Neal, and Helen Garner; and brothers, Aaron Caldwell, Nathan Caldwell, Harry Caldwell, and Cecil Caldwell.

Bill leaves to celebrate his life, wife, Julia Caldwell; daughters, Deborah Caldwell, Angelique Caldwell, Genevieve Young, and Tanya Young; son, Phil Jennings; grandsons, William Caldwell, Anthony Caldwell, Marquan Caldwell, Ricardo Armstrong, and Christpher Johnson; granddaughters, Shaquayla Caldwell, Rickeia Armstrong, Juleah Young, Tiana Young, Michelle Battle, Sirea Clyburn, Latisha Richardson, Philicia Jennings, and Imani Holden; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; special niece, Cora Pennie of Lexington, KY; sister, Gracie Caldwell of Midway, KY; and a host of other relatives and friends
