Markita Nicole Avant

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Markita Avant, who left us on November 11, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on July 17, 1988. Markita was the beloved daughter of Martin Hudson and Anita Avant.

She was the devoted partner of Arthur Mabry and the living Mother of five children: Niya Avant-Mabry, Nizona Avant-Mabry, Nizear Avant-Mabry, Niseem Avant Mabry, and Ni’Ianni Avant Mabry.

Markta’s laughter and lighthearted spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She attended Brookhaven High School. After graduating in 2007, in her free time, Markita enjoyed singing, dancing, and cooking delicious meals for her family.

Although Markita is no longer with us, her memory will live in the hearts of her loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will never be forgotten.

Markira is preceded in death by her Son Niseem Avant-Mabry. Great Grandmother Grace Jacobs; Grandmothers Clara Hudson and Rita Allen-Avant. Grandfather John Allen, Uncles Ronald Avant, Manzell Avant, and cousins TeeAra Turner, Radience Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Niya Avant-Mabry, Nizona Avant-Mabry, Nizear Avant-Mabry, and Ni’Ianni Avant-Mabry. Partner Arthur L. Mabry, parents Martin Hudson and Anita Avant. Sisters; Alaina Avant, Amber Avant, and Shalamar Hudson-Rice. Grandson: Rezon Avant-Hope. Niece; Harper Avant-Conyers, Nephews; Sincere Avant, Semaja Avant and Mazi Avant along with a host of Cousins relatives and friends.
