Caruso, William "Bill", stepped into eternity August 7, 2024 at age 90. He is survived by Shirley (nee Alberico), his loving and devoted wife of 68 years. Marianne (Michael) Bannos, his cherished daughter and son-in-law, and Marc (Angel) Bannos, his beloved grandson and granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Donata Caruso, and siblings Lucille (Raymond) Ariano, Mary Jane Giusto, Frank Caruso, Dorothy Caruso. Beloved son-in-law to the late Anthony and Eva Alberico. Fun-loving brother-in-law to Ronnie Alberico and Carol Caruso, the late Dolores and the late Bryan Leveille, and the late June Alberico. Bill and Shirley had a true love story: they met in kindergarten and began dating in their teens. They grew up together and became best friends. Marianne adored her parents, and they lavished their love upon her, and later, to their only grandson, Marc. Bill was everybody's favorite uncle. He adored his nieces and nephews who idolized him in return. Sending a special shout-out to the Melissa and Mark Foley-Ricker family whom he loved like a second daughter and son, and Erin, Brianna, and Elizabeth, who were like granddaughters to him. Bill's humor was legendary, and Shirley always said that his nephews and nieces were his best audience. From boyhood, music and vintage cars were his passion. He sang beautifully and could tell you anything you wanted to know about the make, model, and features of any car since the 1930s. When he was 11, Bill snuck out of bed late one night, grabbed his father's car keys, and took a joyride around the neighborhood. He lived 90 years, so we know his parents never found out about that secret. Bill loved all of us fiercely and loyally. We are grateful to him and carry on his beautiful legacy. A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way Frankfort, IL on Sunday August 11th from 2pm-6pm. Chapel prayers will be Monday morning at 10:15am before processing to St Anthony Catholic Church for Mass at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery Orland Park, IL.
