William Julius Casey , age 82, passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his bedside on January 11, 2026.

Bill or Billy, as he was affectionately known, was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from Murphy High School in 1961. After he graduated from Murphy, he attended Livingston University on a football scholarship. In 1965, Bill returned to Mobile when he received a scholarship to play baseball at the University of South Alabama where he hit the first grand slam in Jaguar history.

Bill was an ordained Baptist minister, proud member of the Gideon International Ministry and he taught Sunday School at Woodridge Baptist Church for many years.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Margie Hamby Casey , four sons, and one daughter.

William Julius Casey (Jay) of Mobile, Alabama, Alan Primeaux (Lettie) of Woodlands, Texas, Andy Primeaux (Tonya) of Mobile, Alabama, Matt Casey (Emily) of Birmingham, Alabama, and Brantley Casey Perloff (Jeffrey) of Mobile, Alabama.Bill had five grandchildren: Mason Brackins, Jordan and Bray Perloff and Belle and Brenna Casey.

Bill never met a stranger and loved to share Jesus with everyone he met. He enjoyed watching Alabama football and South Alabama baseball , but mostly loved being surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held from Woodridge Baptist Church on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 10am. The family will receive friends from 9am until service time Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Woodridge Baptist Church or to St. Judes.
