William Chalfont Obituary
He was born Jan. 29, 1939, in Philadelphia, a son of late William and Elizabeth Tate Chalfont.
He worked as a Pennsylvania state police officer, as well as a Michigan corrections officer and criminology professor before retiring to Washington, Pa.
He is survived by sons Brian of Prairieville, Louisiana, and Brent of Washington, Pa.; daughters Brooke (Michael) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Brittney of Punxsutawney; and three grandchildren, Zackery, Aava and Zoey.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bryce, and brother Bruce.
Friends are welcome from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Beinhauer Funeral Home at 2820 Washington Road in McMurray, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).

Bill popped in my mind this evening and for some reason, I googled him. It was with great sadness to hear of his Recent passing. Bill was my professor at CCAC. During that time, we built a strong bond in and out of the classroom. We spent our off days golfing as he shared his stories of family, friends, the Marines and being a state trooper. I think back and had to let his family know what a great person Bill was and truly had a great impact on my life at such a young age. My deepest sympathy!
