We regret to inform you of the passing of Mr. William Cleatus “Big Billy” Chandler. Billy, 64, passed away during the early morning hours of Sunday, February 16th, 2025, while at Agape House of Lexington, with his family.
Mr. Chandler was born in Burlington, NC, a son of the late William Kenneth & Elizabeth Smith Chandler. Big Billy enjoyed fishing and greatly loved his children. He liked spending time with his dogs: Max, Bella, and Duke; and his grand-dogs, Dexter, and Lydia.
Surviving is his wife, Elaine Chandler; children: Brittany (David) Wright of McBee, Howard (Dan) Dixon of Hartsville, and Little Billy Chandler, Jr. of Hartsville; granddaughter, Paige Jordan; siblings: Sharon (Donald) Grub of Burlington, NC, Jeff (Virginia) Chandler of Burlington, NC, and David (Kim Sieler) Chandler of Burlington, NC; aunt, Dot Atkinson of Burlington, NC; and uncle, Floyd Smith of Burlington, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents and mother, Sara Chandler; brothers, Baron Chandler and Billy Carter; and uncle, OT Smith.
His funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 on Thursday afternoon, February 20th, 2025, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home. Mr. Richie Bradshaw, Reverend Chris Johnson, and Reverend Allen Lynch will officiate with a committal following in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening, February 19th, 2025, from 5-7 at Norton Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers: Nick Threatt, Maxie Dixon, Chase Coleman, Scott Clark, Josh Winburn, and Thomas Baker.
