WILLIAM "BILL" EARL CHARTRAND, SR, 89, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 6:29 pm, Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois.
He was born to the late Clarence and Edna (nee Westerheide) Chartrand on March 16, 1935 in Centreville, Illinois.
Bill married the love of his life, Katheryn M. Bergmann, on October 29, 1955 in Dupo, Illinois; she preceded him in death on August 14, 2022. During their 66 years together, they were blessed with 6 children, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way.
Bill and his wife, Katheryn, started and operated Chartrand Equipment in Red Bud, Illinois for over 60 years. He was active in the success and legacy of the family business.
Bill was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ruma, Illinois. He was known for his love of going on ice cream runs with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting the casino.
