William Clark Obituary

Born in Neenah, Wisconsin, 10/23/1938. Died peacefully at home in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, 9/10/2025.

Son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend. The world lost a good man. He was kind and caring, and had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh. He was empathetic and wanted the world to be a better place. He had a love of history. He was a voracious reader. He was a teacher and a scholar. He was a car and golf enthusiast.

He loved Menominee Park, where he spent hours and hours playing catch and hanging out as a boy. He loved his time in Crawford, Colorado where he and Charlotte spent 12 of their retirement years. He loved playing at the casinos. He spent numerous hours exploring North America on his motorcycles, often with Charlotte as his companion. He taught middle school and high school in Greeley, Colorado and Roseville, Minnesota, where he positively impacted the lives of thousands of young people and made lifelong friends, including Steve (Roxy), Barb, Earl (Carole), and Denny (Marty). He was a whistler and a singer and a fan of music. He held his family close to his heart. He was many things. His son was known to say he "won the parent lottery."

Bill is deeply missed by his wife of 64 years Charlotte (Mentink) Clark; son Cory (Annette); daughter Jennifer (Chad Nodland), grandsons Adam and Asher; brother Bruce and sister Donna; nieces and nephews; brother-in-law David; sisters-in-law Shirley and Janice; and wonderful neighbors Grant and Gretchen Withers.

Bill's biggest regret would probably be not spending his latter years with a dog by his side. His energy lives on in the stars.
