William Horace Cline, born on September 14, 1950, in Smyrna, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, in Powder Springs, Georgia. A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, William leaves behind a legacy defined by his unwavering, deep kindness, and dedication to his faith.
William dedicated a significant part of his life to his career at Austell Boxboard, where he worked diligently for 33 and a half years. His commitment to hard work was matched only by his humble nature. He achieved his General Educational Development (GED) at the age of 52, a testament to his determination and lifelong pursuit of personal growth.
A proud United States Navy Vietnam Veteran, William served his country with honor and dignity. His military service was but one facet of a multifaceted life filled with rich experiences and a passion for storytelling. Family and friends fondly remember him sharing tales from his childhood, capturing the imagination of those around him.
William found joy in the simple pleasures of life: watching wrestling and enjoying classic westerns brought him much happiness. Above all, his proudest accomplishments were his family—Judy Cline, his devoted wife; Kevin Cline, his beloved son; and his daughters Heather Roberson and Amber Cline. He cherished the company of his ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, taking immense pride in their achievements and the family bonds they shared. William is also survived by his brothers Edward and Lyman Cline, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Issac ‘Pete’ Cline; his mother, Martha White; and his sisters Brenda Buckner and Sarah Strickland. Their memories will continue to be a comfort to those he leaves behind.
The family invites all who knew him to join in honoring William’s life during a visitation on November 2, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Both services will be held at West Cobb Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA. A graveside service will take place later that day at 3:15 PM at Powder Springs Memorial Garden, located on Atlanta Road in Powder Springs, GA.
William Horace Cline will be remembered as a man of great character, whose legacy will undoubtedly endure in the hearts of all he touched. He is forever loved and will be deeply missed.
