William Cohen Obituary

Mr. Cohen, son of the late Joseph Cohen and Mary Roberts Cohen, was born July 10, 1940 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was a long-time member of Boynton Baptist Church. Mr. Cohen was also involved in his community where he formerly served as a member of the Rotary Club; Catoosa County Planning Commission; and Board of Directors for Hutcheson Medical Center. Mr. Cohen worked in Construction Services for the State of Georgia for over 12 years until he retired. He enjoyed RV traveling; landscaping his yard; and taking those shopping trips with his wife. While at home, many would find him reading (particularly historical fiction) or watching FOX news. He was also a man that strived to keep up with modern day technology. The family remembers him as a wise, dependable, and responsible man who always wanted to help others.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Ann Wooten Cohen.
Mr. Cohen is survived by one daughter, Daphne Oliver; one son, Charles Cohen; one brother, Jim (Bobbie) Cohen; three grandchildren, Devon Oliver, Matt Cohen, and Dylan Oliver; one great-grandson, Cohen Oliver; many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Anderson Memorial Gardens, 112 Christian Road, Ringgold, Georgia on Thursday, November 20, 2025, 11 a.m. with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, 443 Boynton Drive, Ringgold, Georgia from 4-7 p.m.

Condolences for the family. Bill was on my Board at Hutcheson. I found him to be a man of great character and integrity. I respected him. He was also quite funny. We often communicated online. Sorry to hear of his passing. Grateful to have known him.
