It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William Thor Conner, widely known as Thor, who left us on October 13, 2024, at his home in Bothell, WA. Born in Cincinnati, OH on June 22, 1968, Thor lived a vibrant life marked by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.
Thor's life was a rich tapestry woven with diverse experiences and passions. Thor spent the majority of his life in the Great Lakes region – OH, IL, and IN. He also lived on the east and northwest coasts. Depending on when and where you met Thor, you may have different recollections and ways you think of him. If you knew him in his early adulthood, you may know him from the music/event scene when he worked on large stage crews; if you were really lucky, you have heard him sing.
However, Thor's path took a transformative turn in his 30s when he found his calling as a naturopathic doctor, his self-proclaimed "mid-life crisis". After working several years in the natural supplement industry, he pursued naturopathic medical school, and emerged as a healer who used his knowledge of herbs and the natural environment to help others. His exceptional skill combining energy medicine and bodywork into "Thorapy" is what most recent Northwest friends and acquaintances will think of when his name comes up.
Yet, beyond his professional accomplishments, Thor will be remembered most for his extraordinary generosity and his easy-going acceptance of people and life. His compassion extended to all – humans, animals, and anyone in need, making him an exceptional healer and cherished friend. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." Thor exemplified this philosophy, leaving a meaningful and enduring legacy.
Thor is survived by his beloved wife, Kristina Heidler Conner, his stepfather, Mark Taylor, his sisters, Anza Conner and Joy Conner Flanagan, his mother-in-law, Nita Mondonedo Smith, and countless other family members and friends who had the privilege of knowing him. Anyone who knew Thor was a friend forever. He was preceded in death by his mother, Paula Taylor, and his father, William Sr.
As we mourn Thor's departure, we also celebrate his inspiring life, remembering him with joy, laughter, and a song in our hearts. We invite you to share your memories and upload photos to the memorial page, as a tribute to the life of our always gentle, always generous Viking, Thor.
A memorial service will be held in Seattle on Thor's Birthday, June 22, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to specialbunny.org, in memory of his love of all animals, especially bunnies, or wdcb.org, his favorite jazz station, in memory of his love of music.

I'm so sorry I didn't get to know Thor better. I really appreciated him and Kristina showing me around Chicagoland on one teaching trip out there, and getting to play some games with Thor before the end. I miss you buddy.

To add to my memory below, I knew him through my sister's friend. Correction: I got the said socks three days after he died, not two days as I didn't read the obituary where death date is displayed before I initially submitted the condolence. I thought it was on the 14th he died, but actually it was on the 13th.

Upon seeing him and learning of his name Thor instantly makes me think of Marvel character with his hammer. Upon hearing that he died, I said "there goes his hammer!" Rest in peace Thor!, you're now a marvelous angel in Heaven, which is a more fantastically peaceful place than Asgard.

The pictures of me wearing rainbow-striped shirt I got from Amazon last Christmas and my rainbow socks I got from Temu just two days after you die could remind you of the Rainbow Bridge in Asgard and there could be the one near you in Heaven as well..

Thor and I became friends at university. He was always kind and loyal, and the world has become a dimmer place without his light. His loved ones are all in my prayers and have my condolences at this time of grief.
