William Cooper Obituary

William "Bill" H. Cooper, Jr., 78, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026.

He was born April 10, 1947 to William H., Sr. and Arlene H. (Dewey) Cooper in St. Joseph, Missouri.

After honorably serving in the United States Navy, Bill returned and thrived in the restaurant business, in both Florida and Kansas City, where he spent much of his career. He loved sports and was an avid fan of the Royals, Chiefs, and KU, as well as his kids/grandkid's activities. After leaving the restaurant business, Bill was a driver for the KCATA from where he would eventually retire. Throughout the years he developed a love for gardening and enjoyed spending time out in the yard. Bill was a dog lover and was especially fond of boxers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jon Cooper, and daughter, Melissa Cooper.

Survivors include his sons, Chase and Ty Cooper; daughters, Summer Duffing and Jazzlyn Cooper; grandchildren, Marissa, Cora, Creighton, Peyton, Jordan, Alexus, Rabecca, Braylee, Svea, and Raylan. And his dog, Jake.

Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 26, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. Online guest book and obituary at www.meierhoffer.com.
