William J. Cronin, 86, a longtime resident of East Kingston, NH passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann (Gallant) Cronin.

He was born in Quincy, MA on April 19, 1939, and was the son of the late John and Margaret (Gorman) Cronin. Bill was raised and educated in Lynn, MA and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1956. He earned an associate’s degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Bill was employed at GE in Lynn for eleven years and became an electrical engineer while working at Stone and Webster in Boston for the next eighteen years. Bill later worked for BechTel in Boston, retiring from this position after eleven years. He was an avid sports fan. Bill loved all sports and played softball in his youth. He enjoyed football, baseball, and golf. Bill was a parishioner of Mary Mother of the Church (St. Luke the Evangelist Parish) in Newton, NH.

Bill is survived by his two sons, John Cronin and his wife Maria of Bedford, MA, and Joseph Cronin and his wife Brandy of Salem, NH, his grandchildren Shawn Cronin, Peyton Cronin, Lauren Cronin, and Kerian Cronin, his three step grandchildren, his four step great-grandchildren, his sister Elaine Cragan and her husband John of Peabody, MA, his cousin Arlene Stevens, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
