John A. Roy, 81, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, MA, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Janice (Comeau) Roy, with whom he shared forty-one years of marriage.

He was born on January 11, 1945, in Haverhill, MA, and was the son of the late Hugh and Vivian (Smith) Roy. John was raised and educated in Haverhill, MA, and was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1963. He was employed in quality control at Borden Chemical in North Andover, MA, for over thirty years until his retirement.

John enjoyed spending time at Amazin Billiards in Malden, MA, playing the game of three-cushion billiards. John had a great love of Harley Davidson motorcycles and would spend his free time at the local coffee shop.

In 2001, John was fortunate to receive a heart transplant. His family is very grateful for the extra 25 years they had with him.

John is survived by his daughter Jamie Deslauriers and her husband Jason of Salem NH, his granddaughter Marley Deslauriers; his sister-in-law Elaine Comeau; his niece Joanne Baroli of Oklahoma City, OK; his nephew Dan Comeau of Haverhill, MA; and several great nieces and nephews.  He was sadly predeceased by his brother-in-law Larry Comeau.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. His funeral service and interment will be held privately.
