William Cross Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Aloha Mortuary on Oct. 15, 2025.
William Howard Cross III, age 51, of Kailua, went to be with our Lord on October 12,
2025. He was born on January 31, 1974. William, affectionately known as Billy Boy,
Billy Bob, or Bill, is survived by his mother, Janille Kamaunu (Eric), his sisters Jackie
Palencia, Sonia Marumoto (Brian Tomiyama), Chrissie "Kanani" Nascimento (Roger),
Roxanne Souza (Maurice), Kristina Larrison, Gina Larrison Kano (Nakoa), and
Elizabeth "Liz" Larrison (James Templo), as well as his son, William Sommo. He was
preceded in death by his father, William Howard Cross II.
Bill was a free-spirited soul who loved cars, bikes, and anything that went fast and made
a lot of noise. He could always be found tinkering with just about anything, earning him
the nickname "MacGyver" for his talent in fixing almost anything put in front of him.
Anyone who knew our brother knew that he had the gift of gab. He always had a funny
story to share or a wild experience to recount. When telling his stories, he was always
animated and loud! No matter what he did, you could never stay mad at him for long.
Through both good times and bad, he always managed to survive. The sisters would
joke that he had nine lives. However, we all know that God had a bigger plan for him,
and we find comfort in knowing that he found God before his passing.
Our brother will be deeply missed by his ohana and his long-time friends. His kindness
and generous spirit followed him even in death, as he was a registered organ donor. We
take solace in knowing that his legacy will live on.
