William Larry Demby

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, at approximately 9 pm William Larry Demby passed away at the age of 82 at the Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born on March 3, 1943 in Rome, GA. He is a graduate of Douglas County High School and Young Harris College. Larry served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. His career spanned by owning a fencing company, electrician, and the head of maintenance at Parkway Medical Hospital and a Children's School. Larry had a passion for trains as he volunteered with the New Georgia Railroad. He was a consummate handy man and loved working on and around his homes. Additionally, he loved to sing in the choir at McEachern United Methodist Church. Larry's love for his family is his greatest strength. Larry was a member of the Quilters Guild in Young Harris, GA. Larry loved to travel in his later years. He is predeceased by his wife Becky Cole Demby, and son Justin Creech, his brother Charles Demby, MD, and parents Millie and Ed Demby. Larry is lovingly remembered by his children: Al Demby (Carol), David Demby (Lauran), Ryan Creech, and Leigh Demby; his cherished grandchildren: Blake, Hunter, and Caleb; and his niece, Shannon Demby Dietz.
