William Denion Obituary
Billy Denion, a beloved son, brother and friend to all, passed away peacefully on Oct. 1, 2025. He was 63.
Born William A. Denion on Dec. 5, 1961, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late William F. and Kathleen Brennan Denion.
Billy received his early education at Mackin School and graduated from Meyers High School. He then worked at United Rehabilitation Services in Wilkes-Barre for 30 years.
He was an avid Special Olympics bowler and loved dogs. His favorite activity was eating out with friends and family.
Billy was a friend to all he met. He had an exuberant personality and was known as the Mayor of Sambourne Street during his childhood. Once he got a cell phone, he routinely called people on his "call list" daily, often more than once, to check their welfare. His calls were a bright spot in everyone's day.
Billy's life was a testament to the power of a pure heart, an unwavering smile and a spirit that touched everyone he met. He handled his challenges in life with grace and courage, yet radiated joy and kindness, greeting everyone with a warm welcome and a smile that could light up any room. He never spoke ill of anyone, preferring to see the good in all.
His sister, Sharon Denion Boyle, preceded him in death.
His sister, Sheila Denion, and her partner, Thomas Eysmans, of Bloomfield, CT; brothers, Gerard, and his wife, Suzanne Denion, of Williamsburg, Va., and John, and his wife, Josie Denion, of Gingoog City, Philippines; his twin brother, Robert, and his wife, Jean Denion, of Mountain Top; brother-in-law, Joseph, and his wife, Christine Boyle, of Wyoming; 12 loving nieces and nephews; other family and friends will miss him very much.
Billy's family remains grateful to the community, caregivers and friends who supported him throughout his life. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched with his kindness and radiant spirit.
Celebration of Billy's Life begins with a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at McLaughlin's, 142 S. Washington St. in Wilkes-Barre. It continues at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, with a funeral Mass in the Church of St. Nicholas-St. Mary, 226 S. Washington St. in Wilkes-Barre.

I so sorry to hear of Billy's passing. I met Billy through NBT Bank. He would come in with Jimmy and he would just light up when he saw Carol and me. We would come out to get our bear hugs. Back in 2009 or 2010 I gave Billy a couple of bowling shirts and I think a baseball cap. He was so thrilled. He was a absolute angel on earth. In honor of Billy l had a hotdog for supper.

Heartfelt sympathies to the Denion family. We grew up with Billy as he lived a few doors down from our grandparents (Charlie & Marie Klein). He most always entered through the kitchen and shared his huge hugs and warm smile with everyone he greeted. It was wonderful to see him not too long ago at Day Development. I was blessed to get a few more hugs. Rest easy Billy you were loved.

Billy was a bright spot in our days at NPT. He would always greet us with "you're a good friend to have." He embodied the true characteristics of an invaluable friend that will always be remembered. We will miss you Billy.
