William Devorak Obituary

William 'Bill' E. Devorak, laid aside the working tools of life on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. He was the only child of the late William and Alice Peglow Devorak. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Beverly, after 60 years of marriage; he is survived by a niece, Jamie Dick, and her husband, Joe; a great-nephew, Joey; and great-niece Samantha; also survived by many cousins. Bill served many Masonic bodies, including Milnor Lodge No. 287 F. and A.M., Master in 1973 and 1977 (now Dallas Lodge); Zerubbabel-Duquesne R.A. Chapter No. 162 H.P. 1992; Pittsburgh Commandery No. 1 Knights Templar; Commander 1987 to 1988; Marshal of The Grand Commandery of Pennsylvania 2000-2001 and 2005 to 2006; Division Commander Division No. 2 of the Grand Commandery of PA 2002 to 2005; Knight Commandery of the Temple 2004; and Knight Templar Cross of Honor 2014. A member of Mt. Moriah Council No. 2 R. and S.M., a member of the York Rite Sovereign College of North America, Golden Triangle College No. 32, a member of Transfiguration Tabernacle No. XXIX, H.R.A.K.T.P., and a member of the Valley of Pittsburgh A.A.S.R. 32nd. Bill was of the Presbyterian faith and served as an elder. He served in the United States Army at the Ordnance Guided Missile School. He was a member of the American Legion and volunteered his service to his township. Friends will be received Sunday, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the BOCK FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1500 Mount Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, with a funeral service to be held Sunday, at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.
