After a courageous battle with cancer, William "Dollar Bill” J. Connell passed peacefully on September 17, 2025. Born on February 22,1951 to John and Anne Connell, Bill enjoyed the simple things in life.
With his long-time career as a truck driver and member of the Teamsters Local 200, he has made lasting friendships. Bill retired from USF Holland in October 2009.
As a man of few words, he found joy in the simple pleasures-cold Blatz beer along with a chew of Copenhagen and supporting his heritage by attending the annual Erin St. Patrick's Day parade. Over the last 30 years he has spent time at their place up north at Eastshore Resort on Rolling Stone Lake visiting with dear friends they’ve made over the years.
Bill was also a long-time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Highway P, where he found community and solace. He will be remembered dearly by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Connell, his daughters Jody (Jake) Schlafer and Jill (Victor Sainz) Connell, as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, many cousins along with other family and friends. Bill is preceded in death by his beloved parents John and Anne Connell.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. (2228 N Silver Maple Ln, Oconomowoc, WI).
