William McCarty Obituary

William McDonald "Donald" McCarty peacefully passed on September 27, 2025.

Donald was born January 15, 1948 to Dorothy Gore McCarty and William McDonald McCarty in Augusta Georgia. Donald was a lifelong resident of Richmond County.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked many years at the Nutrasweet Company and then ran a successful business, AAA Hauling, where he was the owner and operator.

His survivors include daughters, Stephanie Groenenboom, along with her husband Aaron, and Marsha Anderson, along with her husband Tripp Anderson. Also included are grandchildren Jackson, William, McKenzie, Gage, and Declan and siblings Robert Gore, Edward Gore and Annette Sousa. He is predeceased by his parents and sister Deloris Prater.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.
