William Drake Obituary
William "Bill" Robert Drake, 69, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026.
Bill was born January 19, 1957, in Ashtabula County, Ohio, to the late William Junior Drake and the late Bernice Winifred Beifuss Drake.
He built his life around curiosity, skill, and heart. An aircraft mechanic by trade, he was endlessly fascinated by planes and the world of aviation, a passion he happily passed on by taking his family to air shows, traveling with them and sharing his sense of wonder. He was drawn to philosophy, adventure, and also had a deep love of music, often enjoying concerts with friends and finding joy in shared experiences. Known for his sense of humor and a bit of a wild streak, he had the warmest heart, never hesitating to help someone in need and always rooting for the underdog. Above all, he loved his wife and children deeply.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Odell Drake; daughters, Jessica Drake Mosher and Lindsay Drake; grandchildren: Spencer and Liam Burleson, siblings: Gary Drake, Tim Drake and Janice Belconis.
The memorial service in celebration of Bill's life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, NC. The service will be webcast.
