William Duncan Obituary

William "Bill" Duncan
Jacksonville - William Ulysses "Bill" Duncan, 89, of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026, at Prairie Village Healthcare Center. He was born June 23, 1936, the son of Murray Duncan and Mary Fox. He married Irma Jean "Peg" Erlandson on June 30, 1957, and she preceded him in death May 4, 2006.
Surviving are his children, Jean Duncan and Bill (Diane) Duncan; one sister, Carolyn Jerkovich; two grandchildren, Amber (Ryan) Sichting and Jayme (Blake) Davis; and four great-grandchildren, Grayson Sichting, Tenzlee Sichting, Rowan Davis, and Reece Davis.
In addition to his wife, Irma, he was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Frank Duncan.
Bill was a through-and-through caretaker. He took great pride in his role as a farmer, as his land was his priority, but he also took great care of his family. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army and spent over 30 years overseeing Hebron Cemetery.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Burial will follow services at Hebron Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hebron Cemetery or a donor's choice. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
