William “Jitts” Dunkley, 87, passed away December 17, 2025, in Majestic Care of Terre Haute. He was born August 25, 1938, in St. Mary’s to William Henry Dunkley and Martha Vester Dunkley. He worked and retired from the Teamsters as an operator. He also worked at Danville Asphalt, and GM Automotive. He was a veteran of the United States Marines. He was the youngest of 16 siblings.
William is survived by his wife, Virginia Conner Dunkley (m. 10/11/1958) a son, William Dunkley (Michele) of Libertyville, grandkids, Jeremy Dunkley (Bryttany) of Libertyville, Blake Dunkley (Katie) of Madisonville, Kentucky, Chad Dunkley (Tiffany) of St. Mary’s, Wyatt Dunkley (Brittany) of Greencastle, great grandkids, Kaleb, Brynley, Zaine, Bryley, Piper, Bentley, Lanie, Maley, Sophia, and Ember, special friends, Mark Boyll, Steve Lewis, Tom Holt, and Ronnie Lamb, and brother-in-law, Frank Judy. He is preceded by 9 brothers, and 6 sisters.
