Ashlea Marie Brown, 34, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on January 6, 2026, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Born on June 19, 1991, in Terre Haute, Ashlea dedicated her life to serving others with compassion and grace. She worked as a teacher assistant for the Vigo County School Corporation, where she supported mentally and physically handicapped children. Her work was a reflection of her deep care for others and remained a central part of her life until health challenges prevented her from continuing.
Ashlea was an active member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church, where she served faithfully in the infant and children’s ministries as well as Vacation Bible School programs. Whether caring for infants in the nursery or helping organize crafts and lessons for VBS, she gave selflessly to share her faith and bring joy to those around her.
Ashlea was a devoted wife to her husband, William, and a loving mother to their two sons, Aiden Kole and Kaleb Hudson. Her family was her greatest joy, and she created a home filled with love, laughter, and faith.
She is also remembered by her mother, Brenda; siblings Stephanie, Christina, Michael, Josh, Nikki, and Adrienne; and many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “Aunt Ash.” Her presence brought warmth and comfort to their lives.
Ashlea was preceded in death by her father, Robert Fuqua Jr.; grandparents Jack and Augusta Jones; and an unborn son, Brooks.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, IN, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to either Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes or the American Kidney Fund, in Ashlea’s memory.
Ashlea’s legacy is one of unwavering love—for her family, for the children she served at school and church, and for all who knew her. May her memory bring peace to those who mourn her.
