William E. Fishman M.D.

William E. Fishman, M.D., age 96, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Carole (née Goldstein) for 63 wonderful years; loving father of Paul, Michael, and Robert; dear brother-in-law of the late Linda (Ernie) Shubert; cherished uncle of Karyn and Jeff Schubert; and a treasured friend to many. Born and raised in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, Dr. Fishman attended Roosevelt High School and later the University of Illinois Chicago, Navy Pier Medical School. He proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Dr. Fishman dedicated more than 50 years to Family Medicine in private practice, where his compassion, warmth, and genuine care touched countless lives. His greatest joy, however, was his beloved wife Carole and their sons. Following retirement, he embraced travel, theater, and musicals, and he devoted his time to volunteering as a physician with The ARK. A longtime and active member of Temple Jeremiah, he held deep pride in his Jewish heritage and community. He will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
