Myrtle Beach, SC Mr. William J. Forbes, Jr., 66, husband of Mary Wilson-Forbes, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 following a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born June 18, 1959 in Baltimore, MD, William was the son of the late William J. Forbes and the late Annie L. Raines. He worked as a maintenance engineer at the Hilton Myrtle Beach for many years and more recently as a concierge at the Embassy Suites at Kingston Plantation Resort. William was very talented at working with his hands and could make, fix, or repair just about anything. He lived a full and rewarding life and enjoyed the company of family and friends. He loved to read and listen to music, especially jazz, play the guitar, and go to concerts. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Mary Wilson-Forbes; his children, Christina Forbes, Desiree Walker, Tori McClary, and Corey McClary, Jr.; his grandchildren, Tristan Wise, Arianne Jefferson, Ni'Aire Hendricks, and Josiah Forbes; his brothers, Jeffrey Forbes and wife Sherry, and Donnie Lomax and wife Jackie; his favorite nieces, Monica Kelson, Ashley Forbes, and Alicia Jones; and many other extended family and friends.
