William Fowler Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 8, 2024.
William Harold Fowler, 81, of Canton, passed away on October 4, 2024 at home, following an extended illness.
He was born on August 17, 1943 to the late Lawrence and Helen (Alden) Fowler in Canton, OH.
After graduating from Timken High School in 1961, Bill joined the United States Air Force, serving as an Airman 1st Class in Germany. During his service, he received the 17th Air Force Commendation Medal. His time with the Air Force and traveling around Europe shaped his views on service, travel and education. He urged those around him to travel as much as possible to see and experience new things, and to never stop learning. During his time in the Air Force and later as a carpenter's apprentice he would take any training or course offered to him. He believed you can never have enough knowledge or skills.
He was a proud member of Carpenter's Union Local 285 and worked on many of Canton's well-known buildings. He was also a very generous man with friends, family and strangers. He believed in paying it forward and his gifts have benefitted many. His generosity's effect blossomed well outside his circle of loved ones. He was also a great supporter of the Canton arts community. Finally, he was a wonderful father, spouse and friend.
William is survived by his loving daughter, Kristine (Edward) Geis; granddaughters Miranda and Carolyn Geis; sisters Joyce Lewis and Roseanne Best; sister-in-law, Amy Laschinske; and companion, Kay Booth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Fowler; and siblings, Paul Fowler, Richard Fowler, Carol Anderson, Myra Davis, Mary Alice 'Peg' Graven, and Clifford 'Bud' Fowler.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 3:00 pm with Kevin O'Brien, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy's Town (boystown.org) or St. Labre School (www.stlabre.org).

So sorry for your loss. Will always remember my cousin Bill. Didn´t know him really well because we were in the service all them years and then retired in Arizona. Prayers for the whole family.
