William Frederick Jr.

William Frederick Jr., age 84, of Elyria, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Crocker Point Health and Rehabilitation Center in Westlake after a lengthy illness. He was born on August 12, 1941, in Cleveland and has been a resident of Elyria for the past 33 years, moving from North Ridgeville. He was a 1960 graduate of North Ridgeville High School and went on to start his own business as an insurance agent for State Farm, retiring in 2023 after 56 years of service. He was in the State Farm Millionaires Club, winning cruises, trips to Spain and Hawaii, among others. William never met a stranger and loved socializing with his work colleagues and friends, with whom he would enjoy card games, rounds of golf and golf trips. He was never done learning, was an avid reader and enjoyed watching documentaries. He enjoyed listening to music and going out dancing with his family and friends. He loved to travel and spent many winters in Puerto Rico with his wife Alyce. The summer months would find him camping, relaxing by his pool, or spending time on his boat at Bay Point.

William is survived by his wife Alyce (nee Edstrom) Frederick; children William E. Frederick of Elyria, Ronald L. Frederick of Elyria, Laura (Robert) Kugel of Heath and Joanna Deidrick of Avon Lake; stepsons Matt (April) Purper of New Albany and Bill (Suzanne) Purper of CA; grandchildren William and Amy Frederick, Tina Visalden, Christina and Courtney Kugel, Ashton Shearer, Max and Cameron Purper and Imogen and Averie Ybarra; great grandchildren Jose Jr and Josiah Visalden; siblings Adrian Frederick and Judy (Tom) Hurdelbrink.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sara (nee Getson) and William Frederick Sr.; first wife Sandy Muschitz.

Memorial Service Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate.
