Jennifer Brown Frederick

Jennifer Brown Frederick, age 47, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Pastor David Redding will be officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Anna Dora and Gene Williams; paternal grandparents, Louise and John Dee Brown.

Survivors include her daughter, Sadie Frederick; sister, Deborah Hope Naugher (Larry); brother, John Thomas Brown (Daphne); and parents, Anna Williams Brown and David Brown.

Jennifer grew up in Tuscaloosa and graduated from Hillcrest High School. She went on to Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville then returned to Tuscaloosa to earn her bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama. Her calling was Special Ed. She met and made many friends throughout her teaching career at Sprayberry Education Center, Maxwell Elementary, Vance Elementary, Brent Elementary and Hillcrest High School. Her students were everything to her! During her career she met and married Robert Frederick. In 2009 they had a beautiful baby girl! Sadie was Jennifer's whole world! She was so proud of Sadie and was her biggest cheerleader. Jennifer loved animals. Especially dogs and cats. She wanted to bring all strays home with her and find good homes for them. She also loved to cook and was always glad to invite you to her table. She had a huge heart and loved fiercely and unconditionally! She was a free spirit with a hippie style and was always ready to go to the beach. She loved God, her church family and her niece and nephew, Brayden and Brynleigh Buford. Her stories and laughs will be sorely missed.

Pallbearers will be Robert Frederick, Larry Hudson, Scott Brown, Archie Buford, Greg Goodman, and Chad Lowery.

Honorary pallbearers are faculty, staff and students at Hillcrest High School, HIS Church Tuscaloosa members, previous students and their families and aides.
